Faerie Lights

My entry for the 2016 Winter Wonderland contest at Renderosity.com (3rd place winner).

I had recently re-read Julian May's "Pilocene" science fiction series and was inspired by a description of a glowing faerie castle made of glass.  Created mostly in Blender, except the castle which was built using LaurieS's Fantasy Castle 2011 set. The textures for the lantern screens and the starfield were both painted in Photoshop, all other materials are procedural Cycles materials (including the color shifting and patterns in the sky).
